Delivering prettiness

On Christmas Eve, late at about 10:00 Santa and his elves were making present for him to deliver. When the hours past by Santa's  Elves were making , wrapping
and putting them into Santa's sleigh.

When it was time to go and deliver the presents,one of Santa’s reindeer’s was missing. Santa was freaking out to the days and without one more reindeer Santa couldn’t fly without a reindeer then the elves were thinking away to get Santa up in the air.

One of the elves was walking and phoned the missing reindeer. Then he took the reindeer and hooked it back up on Santa's sleigh and then Santa was ready for take off. Tr and deliver all of the present.

Ten waka for Christmas

Ten Waka for Christmas is about two kids named Jemma  and Toby were trying to make wakas for christmas. And make them float at the duck pond and see hoes waka will win.
The race and do it over , over and over again until one of them will win.

Netbook Reflection 2012

When I didn’t have a netbook I used books I didn’t really like doing homework in it because my writing wasn’t tidy and it was frustrating and my hand gets sore and red. Now I have a netbook it is so much better because I get to take it home and do my work at home.

But I don’t like it when it doesn't  connect to  Wairehe  at our school and can be really  frustrating when its on number lock and freezing all the time. With all of that said, the coolest thing is that I get to take it home and finish work that I need to complete like reading, maths and writing.

I like my netbook as a cool learning tool because I get to find lots of information from the internet.
I hoep next year that I will learning more things when I am year 6.

On Wednesday, I was  lucky to go the  interzones, I was glad to hear that I came second for shot put.

Yesterday morning when I came to school, we got into area sports clothes and headed out to the reserve. When put my bag down on tarpaulin and had a little thing to eat we had to wait for the other school’s.

When the other schools came all of us were nervous because they looked fast and strong.
Then the athletics began the 100 meter run was first.  And then it was my turn to do shot put .

I threw it as far as I could and got put in first place!

Overall I thought that athletics was fun and I felt good that I won.

STRAW SPRINKLER

Materials:

• Bamboo stick
• Cello tape
• Scissors
• Mug of Water

Method:

1. Poke the stick in the middle of the stall and it will look like a T .

2. Then get the two arms  and  pull it to the bottom  of the bamboo stick.

3.  Take the the sticky tape and wrap it around the straws.

4.  Then test it out and see if it will work.

Riverside Camp

In the Holidays the wole riverside club  went to camp. We traveled by bus to willow park in south Auckland. `When we got to willow park we went into the rema room and got into teams  owe tame was called dugeylishious.  Then  Mr Burt  told us to go to the room that we were in and put our bags on the bed.

Overall l liked camp because  we did fun things like quad bikes , go karts and green machines.

It was a sunny day in North  Carolina  when three boys named Kefu, Byron and Chris.
They were bored so they  decided to  go to the beach then they heard a boy calling for
help. The three boys looked for the little boy Kefu jump into water and grabbed the boy
but a shark came and tried to take them but Byron and Chris jump in to save them.


Byron and Chris  swam until they found them on the sand.  Byron side are they did on
they are not they are just unconscious slapping his face . Wake up wake up suddenly the
shark came back Chris and Byron was trying fihte it of but the sharks big teeth snapped.
Byron took a stick and started to whack the shark. `

Today me and room  14 did a cool experience  playing with playdoh. We were cutting them into fractions. Then we had put them back into
a whole fraction.

Yesterday my maths group was showing that the same fractions can be cut into different parts .  Then today we got given playdough and cut them into equal parts. We then had to write about it and make a google drawing.

I hope that next time we can do it again.

Gold medals from Kiwi athets

Cameron Leslie is a paralympic swimmer in the 150 metre individual medley. And  he jrwon a gold medal  with a disability   called missing limes  then other the race Cameron defended  his gold   medal.


Did you know that New Zealand  is coming   14th in the paralympics ? Then more medals came  with Philippa Gray and Laura Thompson  and won  gold in track cycling. They didn’t bet there reckoned.

Overall I like that New Zealand  is coming 14th. I think that Cameron will get more medals.

Spider Facts

Cross Country

When the runners came through the grass their shoes got muddy. I had muddy shoes and it was so wet that my shoes were heavy.  Wiremu’s shoes got stuck in the mud. When I came around the corner I slipped.

On Friday room 14 and the whole  school had to be part of cross of country, "It is cross country" I said.
After lunch all the year five had to line up to be taken to the reserve. Mr Burt clapped and then  we were off down the reserve, into the puddles into mud and over the bridge into the forest.

Telecom  people were guiding us along the way. Going though bushes and seeing flags on the trees, stepping into muddy patches and puddles. Then we got up to  Tamaki College,
my friend Byron just ahead of me.

I was almost at the finish line, until Calvin went past me then I came 19th. 

I felt  good because tried really hard.

Olympic Torch

The olympic flame started in Ancient Greece. In 1963 in germany it was the first torch relay.
Every 4 years they design a new olympic torch. The olympic flame goes around London  until the closing ceremony.

When the last runner has ben he has too light the big torch. The flame well be put out during the closing ceremony. Every 4 years they design a new olympic torch.

In the olympic rings the  collars are blue, red, yellow, black, and green.

London Olympics

Did you know that the London Summer olympics is going to be held this year?

The London, England  Olympics will be held in July 27 2012.

In the 2012 opening ceremony there will be a dance or a parade.

The  London closing ceremony is in August the 12 of 2012.

Taekwondo

My olympic event is taekwondo it is like karate but they kick instead of using their hands. They have pads to protect  their body.
Taekwondo is a type of martial arts and uses feet to hit.


* You need to practise and trane an trane to make perfied. To win you need to eat healthy and keep your body fit to compete in the event you are participating in. Taekwondo is played in two minutes the competitors must fight until the two minutes is up.

Taekwondo was invented in The Three - Kingdom ( c.50 BC). When Silla Dynasty in Kor warriors the hwarang  began to develop a martial arts - taekwondo (‘’feet-hands).


Taekwondo was first in the olympics in 1988 seoul games,and.Became an medal sport at the 2000  sydney game

My Holiday

In the holiday I went to the movies to see The Amazing  Spider Man. It was cool because it was in 3D.
It was the  cool’s 3D movie of all time because the lizard looked liked the hulk. In the movie Peter’s uncle got shot by a burglar and set off to find him.

Then Dr Merges he was the lizard and to make mall of himself  to turn them into lizards.
Spider Man was going to defeat him but he got shot so he couldn't walk  but his dad helped him to get across.


The lizard and spider - man was fighting and to save the world and to stop them from becomeing liards.

Term 2 Reflection

Reading:
I have learnt  to put  presentations on my blog. I have done well was reading faster and doing  more and more. The thing that I did not so good was my reading practice sheets. I need to find my answers in the book faster.


Maths:
I have learnt to add tens and ones and takeaways. What I have done well was to add tens and ones. This term I had a problem with missing ones and tens. To improve maths I need to learn my strategies well to get to a higher level.

Art Gallery

I was happy to get into the art gallery. It was a good experience to see the great art that was done by Pt England. 


I saw good paintings and hard pantings but they seemed cool. I thought the best one was by Room 15.

I hope that more art will be at the art gallery next time.

Youth Town

Did you know last week When I got to school I was so excited because Room 14 was going to Youth Town. When the second bell went I ran to class to go to the hall. At the hall we got into our groups and hopped on the bus.

When we got there all of us were happy to get in. Miss Ouano lead us to the room  that we make clay. The instructor was showing us how to make the sculpture then we started to make the clay.

We were happy with our work that we made when were were all done. Then time was up, we all said bye because it was time to move on and get ready fall the next thing. Then we got ready to swim.


I thought Youth Town was cool and exciting because we got to make clay and to swim in a heated pool.

P.E.P.A.

Yesterday Room 14 had a great  experience  of watching P.E.P.A. The thing I liked about it was the break dancing. I liked the moves that they did. 


Next was hip hop it was cool because they did ring dance moves and doing things with their hands and kicking.

My favorite dancer Samson and Cruse. They were cool because they had passion. The other dancers were  just as good as the Samson and Cruse.


Leo was my favourite rapper out of the boys, and the girls were good too.


I was happy too watch the P.E.P.A. All of the groups were stunning.

Andy Warhol Biography

Campbell's Soup 

Andy warhol was born in 1928. He was born in Pennsylvania USA. His parents came from slovakia. Andy had a disease called chorea.

Andy Warhol collected photos of famous people when he was sick. His mum helped him to cut out photos from the magazines.

Andy's school that he went to was Schenley High School. Other boys and girls at his school thought he had shocking, pale skin and blonde hair. He went to carnegie university. He graduated and with pictorial design.

In the 1960s Warhol began creating pop art. Andy painted large pictures of supermarkets and celebrities. Andy Warhol did his art in his studio. The people he painted was Marlin, Mao and Muhammad Ali.

Andy Warhol passed away in 1987. Andy died when he was 53.
